Reflect and perfect LO1, LO2 & LO3 test
Q2) What logistical issues can you force when creating this video? (4)
Logistical issues would include the short deadline of five weeks time, Filming outside due to unpredictable weather conditions and availability of locations. As well as getting a hold of child actors along with their legal paper work and availability. Lastly an issue may be getting hold of a product the ideal size and making sure the shots taken are as good as possible.
Q3) What potential legal issues will need to be addressed? Outline briefly the impact each one may have on the project and how they may be dealt with. (8)
One legal issue is the contracts of the actors, especially if they are under 18 and in full time education. This would impact the project as the production would have to work around the childrens' working hours. When working with children anther issue may be the release/ permission form. This would impact the project as unless the contract is signed by a parent/ guardian the child cannot legally work. Another legal issue could be the copyright of the music included, this would impact the production as once released it could be pulled off screen. This could be dealt with by requesting the the music for use in the advert. The final legal issue could be establishing the location release form as permission would have to the asked and form signed. This would impact the project as it is possible ideal locations may not be available and perhaps the notice given is too short.
Q4) Produce a mind map or mood board exploring how the age of the target audience will impact the design/ content of the video. (5)
Q5) Identify two costs associated with filming the advert for Zoo Shoes and explain how these cost impact on the project. (4)
One key cost would be that of hiring equipment as the project cannot be ran without the equipment. Another cost could be that of catering as cast and crew need to be fed especially if the working days are long.
Q6) What market research could be done to learn more about Zoo Shoes, and what is one outcome of market research? (3)
One idea would be to set up focus groups as from this it could be learnt what the target audience wants/ needs in the product. The advert may change because of this e.g. changing of location or narrative.
Q8) The film needs to be tested before it is sent to the client for approval. Outline what type of research this is and how you could go about completing this research. (3)
One type of researched which may be helpful could be preview screenings as then people could watch and critic the film, providing feedback including opinions and preferences.
